Joe Biden and Merrick Garland’s weaponizing of the DOJ against Donald Trump and his associates just took a significant blow.
The DOJ was trying to go after casino mogul Steve Wynn for what it alleged were lobbying efforts on behalf of China with the Trump administration.
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg has dismissed the suit.
Not Happening
Excuse the wordplay here, but these charges were trumped up from the outset.
The reason this case was dismissed?
As it turns out, all of Wynn’s relationships with the Chinese ceased in 2017.
Wynn’s attorneys celebrated the decision.
They stated, “We are delighted that the District Court today dismissed the government’s ill-conceived lawsuit against Steve Wynn.
“Mr. Wynn never acted as an agent of the Chinese government and never lobbied on its behalf.”
The initial complaint alleged that Wynn approached Trump on behalf of the Chinese to expel a Chinese citizen that was seeking asylum in America after having been accused of corruption in China.
Wynn was allegedly doing this to protect his Chinese business interests.
I find it rather remarkable that this DOJ invents charges against Trump associates.
Yet, we know Hunter Biden was lobbying on behalf of several foreign governments and never registered as a foreign agent.
When are we going to see those charges filed that are an absolute slam dunk?
