Democrats have been after Justice Clarence Thomas for quite some time.
When it was rumored that his wife, Ginni Thomas, had been messaging with Trump officials regarding the election results, Democrats figured they had Justice Thomas dead to rights.
So, when the committee asked her to appear, she gladly accepted the invite, hoping to clarify things.

When the committee asked for Ginni Thomas to appear, I would wager most people thought she would say no, myself included.
That, however, is not the case.
After accepting the committee’s invite, Thomas stated, “I can’t wait to clear up misconceptions.
“I look forward to talking to them.”
At question are messages exchanged with high-ranking Trump officials regarding her desire to see the election results challenged.
This will try to be painted as “overturned,” which they are doing to Trump as well, but that has never been the case.
That includes Trump, who wanted Pence to refuse to certify the election.
Trump wanted the election investigated further before certification due to the perceived problems, so the language here needs to be watched.
Blatantly trying to steal an election, well, I don’t even need to discuss that.
Saying there were issues, when there clearly were, that needed to be investigated first, well, I really don’t see the problem, especially since we continue to have the same problem now during these primary elections.
