The Duke of Sussex was at Leicester’s Welford Road ground watching the home side play Gloucester, beer in hand, alongside Leicester chief executive Andrea Pinchen.

When the stadium’s big screen showed him, audible boos came from spectators before the TNT broadcast cameras cut away, AFP reported. “Some boos there,” commentator Nick Mullins said on air, then returned to the game.

The report describes the reaction as coming from a section of the crowd, not the whole stadium, and it does not include any response from Harry or his representatives.

The outing comes weeks into a major change for the couple.

Harry, 42, and Meghan, 45, returned to the United Kingdom in August after six years living in the United States, AFP noted. The agency said Harry appears to have mended relations with his father, King Charles III, during recent visits, but reportedly remains estranged from his brother, Prince William.

Leicester won the match 38-31 after trailing 14-0 in the opening minutes, handing Gloucester its first league defeat of the season.
