The rules are clear. The International Olympic Committee “doubled down on its decision to permit Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting to compete in Paris.” They’re women, no matter what the DNA or testosterone tests have to say. Homophobic bigots will simply have to get used to the idea that psuedo-female boxers are allowed to beat the living crap out of real female boxers. Audiences won’t be tuning in to see that, though.

Rules allow the match

The Olympic boxing rules say that Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting are women, no matter what chromosomes they have. Everyone knew this round of Summer Olympic Games, held in Paris, France, was going to be “different.

The opening ceremony featured a drag interpretation of the Last Supper. After the controversy hit full swing, the IOC re-confirmed their decision to let the boxers compete.

The IOC decision is totally different from what other official boxing organizations say. Both intersex boxers were “barred from the 2023 world championships after failing unspecified gender eligibility tests.

The rules are clear, IOC insisted in a “lengthy statement released late Thursday night.” Every “person has the right to practice sport without discrimination.

Italy’s Angela Carini is convinced that what happened to her in the ring is “unfair.” She trained hard for a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete in the Olympics. By luck of the draw, she was matched with an opponent unfairly favored by biology.

No matter what the rules say, she was so outclassed that the fight was one sided. That’s something the betting community didn’t miss. Imane Khelif was the clear favorite of heavy wagering.

They’re women, no matter what the DNA or testosterone tests have to say.

Gender determined by passport

You can bet that the members of the IOC had some bets down secretly on the match. In a departure from rules of all the other official boxing regulators, the committee says “an athlete’s gender is determined by his or her passport.

They can have XY chromosomes and as much testosterone as Ron Jeremy, yet still be considered “women.” All “the women participating in the boxing tournament have passports that indicate they are female.

The fight between Algeria’s Khelif and Italy’s Angela Carini lasted a mere 46 seconds. Afterward Carini tearfully explained “that Khelif’s punches were stronger than any she’d ever endured and that one blow to the nose in particular left her in too much pain to continue.” She’s pretty sure it’s broken.

I had entered the ring to fight,” Carini said in Italian after. “I didn’t give up, but a punch hurt too much and so I said enough. I go out with my head held high.” The rules say Khelif is a woman but the spectators know he’s a man. Viewers are angry.

In March of 2023, “the International Boxing Association ordered Khelif and Yu-ting to undergo a gender eligibility test during the IBA World Championships in New Delhi.” Both were disqualified when the results came back. IBA President Umar Kremlev was reported by Russian news agency Tass confirming the disqualifications were because “it was proven they have XY chromosomes.

IOC rules carefully leave all DNA requirements out. Not only did them make their own guidelines, “the International Olympic Committee has since stripped the IBA of its status as the global governing body for boxing.” They aren’t woke enough.
