Iran sent a clear threat on Wednesday to whoever it is running the Oval Office. It wasn’t just anybody who promised to “wipe out every American military base in the Middle East.” The intimidating rhetoric came from none other than a “leading member of Iran’s nuclear negotiating team.” He’s been upset ever since Trump stopped delivery of those pallets of cash Obama and Lurch were sending over.

Iran talks tough

Iran is talking tough but the action they threatened already is slow to materialize. That’s a good thing because it could mean the Ayatollah took a deep breath and decided to step back from the brink of nuclear annihilation.

On August 7, Mohammad Marandi, an adviser to the Iranian nuclear negotiating team, issued a statement which sounds dire on the surface but could simply be a way of de-escalating the situation to a diplomatic war of words. Instead of a shooting military war. If it gets to that it’s guaranteed to spread across the region and has the potential to go global.

If the United States were to join “Israel in an attack on the Islamic Republic,” Marandi writes, Iran would have no choice but to “wipe out” every single American military base in the region.

Then, they would need to even the score with whichever Arab faction dared to provide US infidels with a foothold on their desert. They took control of their land back from the Turks in World War I. Starting another world war doesn’t scare Palestinian fanatics and their friends.

Israel has been picking off Arab commanders one-by-one. They didn’t publicly claim responsibility for whacking Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran but Iran’s convinced they were behind the plot. Whoever did it had a whole bunch of inside help from the security detail.

There are two versions of how it happened and neither of them look good for the IRGC. Killing a visiting leader in the capitol of Iran isn’t polite. There must be a penalty for that. The Ayatollah announced they’re “preparing for a large-scale attack on the Jewish state as retribution.” We’re supposed to stay out of it.

No doubt about it

If the United States gets involved in any attack on Iran, have no doubt that the United States will be wiped out in Iraq, and the U.S. bases in the Persian Gulf region will be destroyed and those regimes that host the U.S. bases will be destroyed.” Them are fightin’ words.

They’ve had lots of practice. “Iran’s regional terror proxies in Yemen and Iraq have launched hundreds of strikes on U.S. positions across the region in recent years.

Things have been escalating steadily since Hamas paratroopers invaded Israel. Iran sponsors Hamas. None of them were expecting the IDF to roll tanks across the border and bomb the entire Gaza strip into rubble.

As soon as the assassination of Haniyeh was announced, Joe and Kamala went into damage control mode. Antony Blinken quickly “launched an intense diplomatic campaign to temper Tehran’s response.

Israeli Officials are hunkering in a Tel Aviv bunker and bracing for a rocket attack. Iran seems to be pondering ways to tone down the show of force to something that lets them save face while issuing a formal military protest.

Hezbollah, meanwhile, has an itchy trigger finger. They don’t care what the consequences are. They’re going in no matter what the Ayatollah does.
