Just moments ago, the Treasury Department announced that it is launching an investigation into Governor Ron DeSantis.

The investigation will center on the payment for migrant flights to Martha’s Vineyard.
Democrat lawmakers appealed to the agency to look into this to see if DeSantis was improperly using Florida taxpayer funds.
They are trying to determine if some of those funds came from the America Rescue Plan.
When the Florida budget was passed for this year, lawmakers had authorized $12 million for a migrant fund from the federal Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund.
The Treasury Office of the Inspector General penned a letter stating, “As part of its oversight responsibilities for the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, The Treasury Office of the Inspector General has audit work planned on recipients’ compliance with eligible use guidance.
“In addition, as part of our oversight work of the Coronavirus Relief Fund established by the CARES Act, we have already sought information from Florida about appropriate use of that fund.
“We will review the allowability of use of [State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund] funds related to immigration generally, and will specifically confirm whether interest earned on SLFRF funds was utilized by Florida related to immigration activities, and if so, what conditions and limitations apply to such use.”

Democrats are tapping on a hornet’s nest here.
This investigation will undoubtedly send voters to the polls.
If they come up with some trumped-up charge against DeSantis, you better believe conservatives will be running to the election booth in November to oust these clowns out of power.
The flip side of this is that if they do charge DeSantis, you better believe there will be a slew of requests for investigations by GOP lawmakers to audit every blue state that reallocated COVID funds for their pet programs.
Like I said… they just tapped a hornet’s nest.
