There are about five or six legitimate contenders to be Donald Trump’s VP right now.
Of those, voters were recently surveyed to see who they would pick.
I can tell you this… it was not any of the people Trump’s surrogates or the media have been pushing.
Surprise?
It was NOT Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) who many like if Trump decides to go with a woman.
Stefanik was actually dead last among the contenders, showing a net -11 rating.
Governor Kristi Noem scored -7, most likely because she will never be able to shake the new image of her being a puppy killer.
Governor Doug Burgum has been the hot choice as of late, but he polled at a -6. Tulsi Gabbard polled at -1, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) polled evenly, but he is likely out because he lives in Florida like Trump.
Vivek Ramaswamy also had a net zero rating, which is surprising for how much MAGA has fallen in love with this scam artist.
That leaves us with the winner… Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who polled at +6.
In addition to being the only one who actually influenced the vote in Trump’s favor, Scott added a possible 25% boost among black voters for Trump if he is on the ticket.
This is a huge deal because of how much Biden is bleeding black voters right now, and one of the main reasons I think we will see a big push by the party to have Scott added to the ticket.
Donald Trump recently stated that he does not believe a vice president impacts the race at all, but that is never true, and it surely is not true when you have two candidates who will both be in their 80s by the time this term ends (Biden is already there).
Scott offers everything Trump does not, which makes him the perfect complement to Trump.
He is a moderate, he is even-tempered, he is a minority, and he is loved by everyone in the party.
It just seems foolish at this point for Trump to even consider anyone else.
