Spc. Enrique Roman-Martinez, 21, was last seen in May 2020 over Memorial Day weekend.

On May 22, he was reported missing.

Six days later, his head washed up on shore, but there was no trace of his body.

His case had been designated as a cold case, with a $50,000 reward posted for information that could help investigators solve the case.

Now, however, seven soldiers that had been camping with the paratrooper, as well as being the last people to see him alive, have been charged, but the charges are not for his murder.

The soldiers have been charged with conspiracy and failure to obey a direct order or regulation related to travel during a travel ban.

The soldiers have been identified as Sgt. Samuel Moore, Pfc. Samad Landrum, Pvt. Annamarie Cochell, and Spcs. Juan Avila, Alex Becerra, Joshua Curry, and Benjamin Sibley.
