Hunter Biden has a new lawyer. Mark Geragos is no Abbe Lowell and proves that you get what you pay for. Since Hunter’s “sugar brother,” Kevin Morris, quit bankrolling his legal defense, the Biden family needs to come up with money to cover attorney fees. By cracking open the shell companies which allegedly hide their assets. With the big tax fraud trial about to get underway in California, Geragos got belligerent in his first procedural hearing. David Weiss surprisingly slapped him down verbally. He’s tired of everyone accusing him of being on Biden’s side to start with and trying to at least act like a prosecutor.
Hunter character assassination
Daring to include the unvarnished truth about Hunter Biden in a court filing amounts to slander and defamation, Geragos argued on Wednesday, August 21.
The lawyers were all gathered for a hearing in Los Angeles to work out housekeeping details for the upcoming trial. “They want to slime him,” the counsel many Hollywood celebrities keep on speed dial for emergencies exclaimed.
His own laptop proves that Hunter Biden is literally covered in slime to start with. Special counsel David Weiss and his team already scored a conviction on felony gun crimes. Weiss, Geragos argues, is attempting to put on an “independent counsel-style salacious prosecution.”

Well, he is a Special Prosecutor. It’s only salacious because of the crimes Biden is alleged of committing. The prosecution can’t help it if writing hookers off on his taxes makes Biden “look bad.”
“It’s actually a form of character assassination,” Geragos postulated. Well, that’s certainly a “theory.” It didn’t hold up for long. District Judge Mark Scarsi mostly backed the prosecution.
“Biden’s team can’t tell jurors that that the president’s son belatedly paid his entire $2 million tax bill.” Hunter got that cash from Kevin Morris, too. “The judge also excluded an expert witness that the defense hoped would explain how addiction impaired Biden’s decision-making.”

Not that high
Since he’s a lawyer for Hollywood celebrities, Geragos is in his comfort zone on drug related issues. He calls the addiction angle “the centerpiece of the defense.” He wasn’t happy when the judge shot it down in flames.
He was all set to gain they jury’s sympathy by bringing out “how the childhood car accident that killed his mother and sister, and his brother’s subsequent death from brain cancer fueled his descent into alcoholism and drug abuse.” He plans to show Hunter was too high to pay his taxes.
“The defense is aiming to demonstrate,” he orates, that “there is a relationship between the throes of the addiction and the tax non-compliance as alleged.” Bullcrap, prosecutors countered. Hunter wasn’t that high.
Back to the CD of CA case … @markgeragos said today in federal court that @USAttyWeiss's deputies "want to paint a picture of a guy without a care in the world, partying at Chateau Marmont[.]"

“No matter how many drugs you can take, you don’t suddenly forget that when you make $11 million, you have to pay taxes,” special counsel prosecutor Leo Wise countered. The information was included in the filing because the “jury needs to see these salacious details to prove that Biden fraudulently claimed those were business expenses.”
For instance, they plan to call a witness who will testify that she met Hunter Biden “at a strip club.” He paid her “$1,400 for ‘artwork‘ even though she didn’t sell him any art.” He wrote it off on his taxes. “You can spend $30,000 on a pornography website if you want – it’s not illegal,” Wise said about Biden’s alleged spending, “But you can’t claim it as a business expense.”
Another thing they included which steams the defense, “the Romania deal surfaced how Biden was still able to lock in $1 million business opportunities despite his addiction.” That blows the main defense right out of the water.
