Schofield, who hosts the podcast “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered,” offered the assessment as her own reading rather than a palace statement.

“At this stage, I think he has largely washed his hands of the situation,” she said.

She continued, “He has his own family to protect and his responsibilities as Prince of Wales.”

She said she understood William to believe “firmer boundaries” should have been set with Harry and Meghan Markle “much earlier,” and drew a contrast with King Charles: “Charles is still Harry’s father and there will always be an emotional component to that relationship. William can afford to be much more pragmatic.”

Her comments followed confirmation that the Sussexes had withdrawn their two young children from a UK school days into the term.

A spokesperson said the decision “was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements,” Hello! Magazine reported.

A separate unnamed source told Page Six the brothers are not on speaking terms. Page Six said it had approached representatives for William, Harry and Markle for comment.
