Believe it or not, there is some justice in our legal system.
Michael Avenatti, the golden boy of the anti-Trump crowd, is headed to jail for four years.
Avenatti was convicted on fraud charges, with an additional 2.5 years being tacked on to the sentence he was serving for trying to extort Nike.
Guilty
Avenatti was already sentenced to 18 months in the Nike case, so he did get a little bit of a break here.
Between the two fraud charges, he was ordered to serve four years, with 18 months of that sentence to run concurrent to the Nike charges.
There could be even more tacked on to that, however.
Avenatti still has a case pending for stealing $10 million from some other clients.
Stormy Daniels’ former attorney tried to make up for his arrogance during sentencing, but the judge was having none of it.
After he apologized to Daniels and to the court for his reprehensible behavior, the judge told him it was too little, too late.
In all honesty, he should be thankful the judge only sentenced him to four years because he stood the possibility of doing 20 years.
So, all I have to say to Avenatti, the man some media outlets were encouraging to run for president at one point, is do not drop the soap!
