The man who took down Bill Clinton is dead.
Ken Starr, who served as independent counsel, has passed away.
His family stated that his death was due to complications during surgery.

I don’t suspect that anything suspect happened here, but the conspiracy theorists are already wondering if the surgeon was on the Clinton payroll.
Starr was appointed as independent counsel to investigate the Whitewater real estate scandal.
That investigation led him down a road that eventually led to Paula Jones, then, of course, Monica Lewinsky.
Clinton was never charged in the Whitewater scandal, but he was impeached in the House for Monica.
Starr’s death was announced by his family earlier this week.
Randall Starr stated, “We are deeply saddened with the loss of our dear and loving Father and Grandfather, whom we admired for his prodigious work ethic, but who always put his family first.
“The love, energy, endearing sense of humor, and fun-loving interest Dad exhibited to each of us was truly special, and we cherish the many wonderful memories we were able to experience with him.”
Starr was accused of conducting a politically motivated investigation, which he always denied.
Those accusations eventually led to him resigning his position in 1999.
At the time, Starr stated, “I was assigned to do a job by the attorney general, and that was to find out whether crimes were committed in this (Paula Jones) sexual harassment lawsuit.
“The whole idea of equal justice under law means that you’ve got to play by the rules.
“It has nothing to do with the underlying subject matter.
“You just tell the truth.”
Starr is survived by his wife and three children.
