Most people in this country will have no idea how close we came to having three mass shootings in schools in the space of two days.
Not long after the Uvalde, TX, shooting, a possible shooting in Maryland was stopped.
On Wednesday, yet another possible shooting was thwarted in Richardson, TX.
No More Tragedies
Today, a Maryland man is in custody after making threats at both a local business and school.
Earl Benjamin Watson made threats after an alleged domestic dispute.
Thankfully, law enforcement was alerted and he was taken into custody before he could carry out his alleged plans.
The second arrest appears to have been a much closer call.
Authorities were alerted when a male was seen shotgun in hand walking by a school.
It turns out, the male was a student. While he did not have the firearms in school with him, police did find the weapon in his vehicle.
If other reports are accurate, another gun and kill list were found in another home, with apparent plans of multiple students to shoot up the school.
The student has been arrested and charged with possessing a firearm in a gun-free school zone.
The latter incident occurred in Richardson, Texas, which is about 15 miles outside of Dallas.
It is virtually impossible to imagine how devasted the state of Texas would have been dealing with yet another tragedy in back-to-back days.
Thankfully, we do not have to find out.
