Authorities in Uvalde, TX, have seen about all they need to see.
Hearings at the state level have produced information that is beyond disturbing.
Chief Arredondo has now been placed on administrative leave, which should surely result in his firing when the final report is issued.
Blistering Report
Over the last few days, numerous pictures have been made public that debunk just about every narrative that was initially put out there.
For instance, we were told the door to the room where the shooter was holding the children hostage was locked.
It turns out the door was open, but the police on scene never tested it.
We were told that the proper equipment, including a ballistic shield, was not on scene, delaying the breech.
The pictures show a shield on scene within about 20 minutes of the call, yet it was about an hour before police made their move.
During hearings, the Texas Department of Safety Director, Steven McCraw, stated, “Three minutes after the suspect entered the west building, there was a sufficient number of armed officers wearing body armor to isolate, distract, and neutralize the subject.
“The only thing stopping a hallway of dedicated officers from entering Room 111, and 112, was the on-scene commander, who decided to place the lives of officers before the lives of children.”
Uvalde Independent School District Superintendent Hal Harrell responded, “From the beginning of this horrible event, I shared that the district would wait until the investigation was complete before making personnel decisions.
“Today, I am still without details of the investigations being conducted by various agencies.
“Because of the lack of clarity that remains and the unknown timing of when I will receive the results of the investigations, I have made the decision to place Chief Arredondo on administrative leave effective on this date.”
Permanent dismissal of Arredondo is almost a given, but this needs to go much further than that.
I am not sure what they can charge or hit him with legally, but whatever it is, it needs to be done, as these children and teachers never needed to die.
The man was a coward and made his officers look like cowards in the process, and, of course, the horrific loss of life that never should have happened.
If they charged Arredondo with these murders, I would not blink an eye.
