Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is in a hole.
Her time in office has been polarizing, to say the least.
Now, with a city that hosts open elections, she finds herself possibly not even making it to the runoff election in April.
See Ya!
Lightfoot has been a disaster for Chicago, yet she continues her flippant attitude.
Recent polling, however, has given Lightfoot a wakeup call that her time in office is about to come to an end.
Less than three weeks from election day, Lightfoot is now in third place, trailing U.S. Rep. Jesus “Chuy” Garcia and former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas.
If nobody gets to 50 percent, which is unlikely considering the number of Democrats in this field, there will be a runoff election in April.
It would be bad enough losing the election after only one term, but to not even make the runoff, well, her political career would be over.
Lightfoot only has a 22 percent approval rating right now, so it is hard to imagine her being able to make up the ground she is trailing.
If by some miracle, she does, I just don’t see her gaining enough momentum by April to be able to overcome Garcia.
Our dream is coming true, my friends, Lightfoot is almost gone!
