We all know there is a rift between Donald Trump and Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT).

After Romney lost his presidential election, Trump was merciless.

When Trump won, however, Romney came with hat in hand trying to get a cabinet position.

Trump heard him out, but he ultimately told Romney no, which is when Mitt just completely changed sides.

Run, Joe, Run

In the upcoming book “The Long Alliance: The Imperfect Union of Joe Biden and Barack Obama,” by Gabriel Debenedetti, a conversation between Biden and Romney is documented.

She writes, “At one point (Biden) connected with Mitt Romney who’d been easily elected to the Senate that night as a rare Trump-opposing Republican. They were warm as Biden cheered Romney’s win.

“Then Obama’s old rival got to the point: You have to run.”

During the E2 Summit in Park City, Utah, Biden returned the favor, telling Romney, “By the way, you should run for Senate.”

Romney ran and won, and he has been a problem for Donald Trump and the Republican Party ever since.

I am pretty sure Romney’s career was over before that book came out, but any shred he had of defending his seat is now surely gone.
