Twitter is on Joe Biden like a fly on sh**.
Conservatives are hawking every post he makes and fact-checking him.
The latest being Biden’s claim about Medicare and Social Security, what was flagged and later removed by the White House.
Not Happening
Biden continues to push the narrative that Republicans want to end these programs, but that is not true.
The only statement that comes remotely close to backing that up is one that was made in 2010 by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) but that has since not only been taken back, but there is a strong voting record to prove that is no longer where he stands.
Biden is twisting words of Republicans that only want to revisit these programs so they are not economically crushing the America taxpayer.
To that point, Biden has posted, “House Republicans are threatening to cut Social Security and Medicare, putting the dignity of millions of Americans who rely on these programs at risk. I won’t stand for that. We ought to strengthen these programs – not gut them.”
Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) has already vowed these programs will not be cut, and Senators Johnson (R-WI) and Scott (R-FL) have clarified their remarks, which makes Joe Biden’s statement completely false.
It was flagged by Twitter, then the White House deleted the post, which his technically illegal since it was an official White House account.
When White House spokesperson Andrew Bates was asked about the false post and its removal, he stated, “For years, congressional Republicans have advocated for slashing earned benefits using Washington code words like ‘strengthen,’ when their policies would privatize Medicare and Social Security, raise the retirement age, or cut benefits.
“House Republicans refuse to raise revenue from the wealthy, but insist they will ‘strengthen’ earned benefits programs.”
Well, perhaps Mr. Bates would like to hear a January 1995 speech of Joe Biden, where he openly threatens to sunset Medicare and Social Security.
These people live in glass houses, yet they continue to throw boulders with impunity.
