Joe Biden and his administration just took a major loss in the courts.
However, it may actually help Joe Biden.
Once again, the federal courts have overruled Biden on ending Title 42, the one Trump-era policy that is still in place to prevent a massive flow of migrants over the border.
Saving Grace
There have been caravans traveling to our southern border for months in anticipation of Title 42 being ended.
This is the one major obstacle that is left in place that threatens deportation for illegal immigrants.
The lawsuit was filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt.
Had judge not stayed the order, effective December 21, Title 42 would have been removed.
We are now averaging about 7,000 illegal immigrant encounters every day.
Once Title 42 is removed, that number is expected to double.
On the ruling, Paxton stated, “I sued Biden nearly 2 yrs. ago to keep Remain-in-Mexico.
“The Admin played games all the way to SCOTUS, but tonight Texas & USA WINS.
“Biden’s open-border agenda won’t survive my legal attacks.
Schmitt added, “BREAKING: In our lawsuit against the Biden Administration over their cancellation of the ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy, a federal court in Texas just stayed the Biden Administration’s latest memo cancelling MPP, keeping the vital program in place.”
By no means are our borders under control, as the administration is already on a record-setting pace again this year.
Congress needs to act and codify that order. The problem, of course, is that we do not have the Senate, so even if we get the bill on the floor of the House, it is unlikely that Schumer would floor it.
