Wisconsin Democrats have a huge mess to clean up.
Reports are now surfacing that State Senate Minority Leader Janet Bewley was involved in an accident this weekend.
Sadly, it claimed the life of a 27-year-old mother and her 5-year-old daughter.
Should Not Have Been Behind the Wheel
Bewley, it is now being reported, had cataract surgery the day before the accident.
The 70-year-old lawmaker was not injured in the accident.
She did, however, take the lives of two innocents that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Reports stated that Bewley pulled out in front of traffic at a Lake Superior beach entrance.
Alyssa Ortman hit the lawmaker’s car, then spun out of control across the highway, and was then hit by another vehicle.
Ashland Police Chief Bill Hagstrom stated, “We’ll be sitting down with them and going over everything as far as determining how it all actually happened.
“Then we’ll forward everything to the district attorney for their review because it was a fatal accident.”
The young girl, Khaleesi, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Ortman was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead later in the day.
Bewley’s office stated, “This is a heartbreaking event for the community.
“Our thoughts and prayers are focused on the individuals involved, their families and their loved ones.
“Senator Bewley, who was not seriously injured in the accident, wants to thank all the dedicated law enforcement and emergency medical personnel who helped in the aftermath of the accident.”
The question now will be if Bewley should have even been behind the wheel of the car one day removed from cataract surgery.
