It would appear that Joe Biden and Democrat leadership will take the first real loss since taking office that their fellow Democrat members will deal out.
The bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus has crafted legislation to block the rescinding of Title 42.
With the number of Democrats on this committee, the legislation would easily pass a floor vote if House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) dares to put it on the floor.
Bad News for Joe
This is truly a no-win situation for Joe Biden and Democrat leadership.
This is one of the few genuinely bipartisan pieces of legislation that has been presented in Congress since Biden took office.
If Pelosi does not floor the bill, she will get hammered by members of her own party.
If she does floor the bill, it is guaranteed to pass both the House and Senate.
There are somewhere between three and five Democrat Senators, at least, that would support this bill going through.
That, of course, would also require Senator Schumer (D-N.Y.) to floor the bill in the Senate.
If it passes Congress, it will go to Joe’s desk, where he would likely veto the bill unless he suddenly gets a change of heart.
Regardless of how this plays out, it is a massive loss for Biden’s personal agenda and an enormous win for moderates and conservatives.
