Several weeks ago, we reported on a small town in North Carolina.

Kenley, NC, had its entire police force resign.

Not only that, but several town clerks also turned in their resignations.

This all happened because of a big city town manager that was brought in to run the show.

That individual, Justine Jones, has now been terminated.

Get Out

Jones was considered a bit of a coup for the city.

She had worked in Minnesota, Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

She was the unanimous choice to take over, but employees had enough of her within two months.

After the police force and clerks quit, the city council opened up an investigation into the claims of a hostile work environment.

While they did not find evidence of that, they did not like what they did find, and they let her go.

Kenley Mayor Tooie Hales stated, “Our decision to terminate the contract is not solely based on the investigation, but there are a lot of other factors, and we have to look for the best way to move forward for the town.”

The mayor had added that they did not “feel like we were moving in the right direction.”

It should not be a problem for them to fill the role, as a total of 31 candidates applied when Jones was hired.
