Joe Biden’s team just shrunk by one.
Over the last few months, staffers have been running for the doors.
This weekend, word got out that yet another high-profile staffer is calling it a day.
Jonathan Pershing, who has been serving as John Kerry’s right hand, is gone.
See Ya!
When John Kerry recruited Pershing to help him with the climate change agenda of this administration, it was made to be a very big deal.
We were also given no inclination it would be a limited engagement.
Yet, according to administration officials, Pershing had only planned on staying for a year.
In announcing the resignation, Kerry stated, “When the President-elect called me about taking on this job, I called Jonathan in California to tell him we needed him on Day One. I told him we had to get the band back together.
“I know it wasn’t an easy call for Jonathan to uproot his family in California for a year but it was a critical call for us.
“Jonathan Pershing has lived up to the highest standards and more.
“He’s also [a] leader with a team mentality who helps create a sense of cohesion and camaraderie, and while he’s headed back west, he’s going to stay in the fight in every way.”
So, now he is headed to the private sector, but I cannot help by wonder what can he accomplish there that he could not accomplish with the power of the United States government behind him?
Either he lost faith in Biden or climate change is just a rallying cry.
Either way, he’s gone, and Biden has another job to fill.
