Well, it looks like Disney has finally realized that when you go woke, you go broke. After what feels like a lifetime of pushback from conservatives, the entertainment giant has caved to the pressure.
Disney has recently made some major changes to their upcoming film releases, which many conservatives are viewing as a triumph. The entertainment corporation announced that they will be delaying the release of their live-action adaption of Snow White by one year.
As a result, the movie is now being released on March 21st 2025 instead of March 22nd 2024. Additionally, Pixar’s animated feature Elio will also be delayed; now set for June 13th 2025 instead of March 1st 2024.
The alterations to Snow White appear to go beyond just postponing its release date. A teaser was put out today by Variety showing CGI dwarves rather than what had been originally planned as a “diverse” cast. On top of this, even South Park got in on the joke with an episode ridiculing Disney over their recent choices and blaming Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy for the drop in quality of Disney films lately.
Searchlight and Disney have also elected to delay Magazine Dreams starring Jonathan Majors due to him facing criminal charges; although it had previously been scheduled for December 2023.
These adjustments occur alongside the ongoing actors’ strike that has been going on for more than 100 days so far and where Bob Iger of Disney recently held talks with SAG-AFTRA about finalizing their 2024 lineup before any further delays take place, especially concerning summer movies planned for that year.

It isn’t clear whether or not these decisions from Disney can truly be considered a victory or not since there are still many unknowns yet to come regarding future releases and how much progress will actually be made in resolving the actors’ strike in time for next summer’s movies schedule to stay intact.
