We have been waiting to see the reports on how Russia would deal with protests over the invasion of Ukraine.
Reports are now surfacing that massive crackdowns have been happening throughout Russia.
More than 5,100 people have now reportedly been arrested throughout six dozen cities on Sunday alone.
Lock Them Up
Protests have been popping up throughout Russia from almost the moment that Putin decided to go in.
You have to remember, Ukraine has only been separated from Russia for a few decades, so many Russian people have friends and family across the border.
Sunday marked the biggest day yet, with a total of 5,138 protesters being arrested.
So far, a reported 13,508 have been arrested since the invasion.
Anti-Kremlin activist Alexei Navalny called for more protests and encouraged Russian people not to fear the crackdown by the Kremlin.
He stated, “Show the world that Russians don’t want war.
“Come out in the squares of Berlin, New York, Amsterdam or Melbourne, wherever you are.
“Now we are all responsible for Russia’s future.
“For what Russia will be in the eyes of the world.
“You may be scared, but to submit to this fear is to side with fascists and murderers.
“Putin has already snatched away from Russia its economy, relations with the world and hope for a future.”
Even if Putin eventually wins this war, he has clearly lost the people of Russia.
