The most polarizing figure on the Supreme Court has passed away.
The oldest member of the court, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, passed away tonight due to complications from cancer.
Ginsburg was 87 years old.
Panic for Democrats
Whether Trump wins or loses, he still has more than three months in office.
This situation is very similar to when Barack Obama was on the way out and Justice Scalia passed away.
The difference, however, is that Republicans control the Senate and can put through a Supreme Court nominee rather than blocking one the way they did when Obama made his nomination.
This is undoubtedly causing widespread panic in the Democrat party, as a Trump nominee would give conservatives a 6-3 edge on the court.
More importantly, it would offset the wildcard, Chief Justice Roberts, and ensure that the rule of law would be given priority over political views on controversial decisions.
