Today, parents have to drag kids out of the house by their hair to get them off their gaming systems.
When you have a kid who is actually willing to help, that is just something special these days.
That is all 15-year-old Sean Toomey was trying to do when he was senselessly gunned down in Philadelphia.
Senseless Murders
Sean was a good kid, by all accounts.
All he was doing was going out to the car to get a case of water for his father.
Gunshots rang out in the area, and Sean was hit by a stray bullet, hitting him in the head and ending his life far too early.
His father, grief-stricken, stated, “I heard the two pops and I thought it was firecrackers.
“But it only takes a second to grab some water and get in the house and he wasn’t coming back in.
“So I got curious, I put my sweatshirt on, and I went outside and I saw him lying on my neighbor’s lawn.”
I won’t tell you why this murder was not covered nationally, but I am sure you can figure that one out on your own.
Philadelphia set a record for homicides last year with 562.
The city is already on pace to shatter that record, and the summer is not even here yet, when violence goes through the roof.
It is not quite at Chicago levels just yet, but it is getting there, and the media could care less.
Philadelphia has been a Democrat-run city since the 1950s, but it is this new age of Democrat that is killing what was once one of the proudest cities in the country.
The Democrats that ran that city were tough bastards, like Frank Rizzo, that believed in law and order.
The current mayor literally did a jig when he found out he could house illegal immigrants.
The new DA is trying to figure out ways to prosecute less crime and release more hardened criminals from jail.
I am not talking about people who got arrested for carrying a dime bag of weed 10 years ago, but people that have committed rape and assault, dealers of hard drugs.
Democrats have turned that city into a cesspool, and it is a complete and utter disgrace.
