The Secret Service, under the watchful eyes of a new acting director, weren’t taking any chances with an anti-police radical who showed up to harass them in Tribeca, New York, on Tuesday. This particular detail was following around Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter. She had to cut her lunch date short, even though the suspect had no idea she was there.
Secret Service on hair trigger
The Secret Service are learning to err on the side of caution. On Tuesday, July 30, the detail assigned to Ella Emhoff “arrested an ‘anti-police watcher‘ during a heated altercation on a NYC sidewalk.”
45-year-old Harry Heymann has a thing about city workers using police plates to take all the best parking spaces. He had no idea he was assaulting federal agents, because they were dressed in plainclothes. It’s all their fault, he plans to tell the judge.
Reportedly, “Ella Emhoff, the daughter of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, was inside a Tribeca restaurant for lunch around 12:40 p.m.” Heymann happens to live around the corner. He copped an attitude when he saw the license plates and “confronted” her Secret Service bodyguards outside.
Man arrested after damaging Secret Service vehicles protecting Ella Emhoff, Kamala Harris' stepdaughter – NBC News I saw this headline and got real concerned for Ella’s safety. It must have been some MAGA thugs… nope guy was trying to steal license plates https://t.co/ZJUzeCir7j

He has a known history of “complaining about cars that have NYPD parking placards that can park wherever instead of driving around the block.”
TMZ caught the whole thing on tape. “Heymann, wearing a black shirt, confronted one of Emhoff’s plain-clothes agents at Hudson and North Moore Streets, not knowing he was a part of the Secret Service.”
The part that got him arrested was when he “allegedly ripped the license plate covers off both of the black SUVs parked on the street during the argument.” The NYPD was called in to make the arrest.

Emhoff rushed out
Considering that the whole event might be nothing but a distraction from a real assassination attempt, “Emhoff, who was inside with a friend, was rushed out and placed in one of the SUVs.”
The last thing the Secret Service wants is a replay of what happened to once and future president Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
A statement issued by the feds underscores that he “caused damage to the rear license plate area of both” SUVs “without provocation.”

Secret Service agents “quickly detained the individual until local authorities arrived and placed the individual into police custody. At no point was any protectee in danger as a result of this incident.”
Once they got Heymann down to the precinct, he was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Even though New York City is liberal and full of prosecutors who refuse to prosecute, Heymann expects to have the book thrown at him hard.
The Secret Service aren’t taking it personally. His story was backed up by a post he made all the way back on July 9. “Apparently driving around in a ghost car is perfectly fine with @NYPD1Pct if you’ve got a fireman’s placard and blue tape on your truck.“
