The FBI could have a significant problem on its hands related to the documents that were seized from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

Multiple outlets are now reporting that some of the documents taken were attorney-client privileged documents.

The story was first reported by Fox News.

Big Mistake

The FBI’s case against Donald Trump could be dead before it ever gets moving.

Five of the boxes listed on the inventory and one set of documents were reportedly covered by privilege.

The boxes were labeled A-14, A-26, A-43, A-13, and A-33.

Because of the concern of possible privileged documents, Trump’s team has asked for an independent review of the documents, but the DOJ has declined the request.

The DOJ declined to comment on the possible mistake.

This raid has already had considerable political blowback for this administration and it comes out that they took privileged information while also refusing an independent review of the documents, well, that opens the door to a slew of legal issues for the DOJ.

We will continue to monitor this story and update as necessary.
