Former President Jimmy Carter’s days appear to be numbered.
The Georgia Democrat has been moved to hospice care.
At 98 years old, Carter is the longest-lived American president in history.
Time to Go Home
Carter has been having numerous medical issues as of late.
He has been in and out of the hospital.
He and his family finally made the decision just to move him back home to allow him to live out his remaining days under his own roof.
The family released a statement that said they had “decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.”
The family also “asks for privacy at this time and is grateful for the concern shown by his many admirers.”
Carter will have the legacy as one of the worst modern-day presidents in history, at least until Joe Biden leaves off.
However, Carter will also have a legacy as one of the most influential careers after having left office.
He consulted with virtually every administration after leaving office as well as helping out as an ambassador on numerous occasions.
I would imagine that Carter is quite comfortable with whatever happens at this point.
In fact, he has been ready for years.
In 2015, he stated, “I’m perfectly at ease with whatever comes.
“I’ve had an exciting, adventurous and gratifying existence.”
We wish you the best, Mr. Carter, and hope you are able to live out your remaining days in comfort.
