Well, the jury is in.
Sadly, it went just about the way we thought it would.
The liberal jury pool in the Michael Sussmann case has ruled that he did not lie to the FBI.
Broken System
From the comments by John Durham after the trial was over, it sounds as though he is just going to live with this verdict.
I firmly believed the judge made some critical errors in this case that could have been pursued, but Durham is seemingly taking his poison on this one.
Of note was the decision to leave several Hillary Clinton donors on the jury as well as a woman whose child attended the same school and played on the same sports team as Sussmann’s child.
Even though the prosecutors had stacks of evidence against Sussmann, the verdict came in his favor.
He was about as smug as it gets, stating, “I told the truth to the FBI, and the Jury clearly recognized this in their unanimous verdict today.
“I’m grateful to the members of the jury for their careful thoughtful service. Despite being falsely accused I believe that Justice ultimately prevailed in my case.
“As you can imagine this has been a difficult year for my family and me. But right now we are grateful for the love and support of so many during this ordeal.”
Durham was clearly upset but responded with dignity, stating, “While we are disappointed in the outcome, we respect the jury’s decision and thank them for their service.
“I also want to recognize and thank the investigators and the prosecution team for their dedicated efforts in seeking truth and justice in this case.”
In reality, Sussmann did not tell the truth and the billing proves it.
He was firmly entrenched with Hillary when he went to the FBI out of “concern.”
In the end, however, Sussmann is still small potatoes.
My question now is what is Durham going to do with the information unearthed regarding the conduct of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Hillary Clinton?
