You know those mass shootings that allegedly only happen on US soil, well, they happened somewhere else again.
I will be the first to admit that mass shootings happen in the United States more often than in other countries, but this South African incident proves that when evil people want to find a way, they find a way to carry out their mission.
Saturday night in South Africa, that happened twice.
The Attacks
The first attack happened right around midnight on Saturday.
The shooting took place at a bar in Johannesburg.
At least 15 people have already died from that attack, with an unknown number of others being injured.
A bar in Pietermaritzburg was the location of the section attack.
In that shooting, four more people died, with another eight being injured.
Police Commissioner Elias Mawela stated, “The primary investigation suggests that these people were enjoying themselves here, in a licensed tavern operating within the right hours.
“All of a sudden they heard some gunshots, that is when people tried to run out of the tavern.
“We don’t have the full details at the moment of what is the motive, and why they were targeting these people.
“You can see that a high caliber firearm was used and it was shooting randomly.
“You can see that every one of those people were struggling to get out of the tavern.”
These attacks in taverns are some new tactic, with 22 teenagers recently found dead in another attack only two weeks ago.
The teens were believed to have been poisoned at the club in that incident.
