Her niece, Rhonda Scott, confirmed the death in a statement to ABC News on Thursday. Scott said Johnson died on Wednesday, Nov. 4, after being taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where doctors diagnosed what Scott described as a “heart aneurysm condition.” Johnson’s official cause of death has not been confirmed.

“She radiated a light so strong and bright, people who came in contact with her felt nothing but positive energy,” Scott said. “We will miss her tremendously and will continue to honor her life forever.”

Johnson played a character named Judy in a single 1998 episode of “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Two years later she appeared in “Dude, Where’s My Car?”, the 2000 comedy with Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott. Her other television credits included “V.I.P.” and “Wanda at Large.” ABC News cited her IMDb profile for the list of roles.

Beyond acting, Johnson worked as a model and as a producer. She also launched her own skincare brand, SkinGlow by Kimmarie.

She continued to make public appearances.

ABC News reported that she appeared on the cover of a digital edition of Grazia Slovenia in August and attended the Los Angeles premiere of “Michael,” the Michael Jackson biopic, in April.

A photo published with the ABC report shows her at the 6th Annual Television Academy Honors in Beverly Hills on May 9, 2013.

ABC News also explained the condition Scott described, citing the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

An aneurysm forms when a weakened section of an artery wall bulges outward, and aneurysms can occur in several parts of the body, including the aorta.

The report did not say where in the body Johnson’s aneurysm was found, or whether it was the cause of her death. Those questions remain open until an official cause is confirmed.

ABC’s report did not include any tributes from her former co-stars or public statements from fans, and Scott was the only family member quoted. The article did not mention funeral or memorial plans.

ABC News published its report on Thursday, Nov. 5, one day after Scott said Johnson died. The report linked to the network’s separate coverage of Jennie Garth’s remarks about her late “90210” castmates Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty.
