Some stories are solely for reporting news and others are reported in the hopes that we wake people up to the realities that can be.
This is one of those reports.
Police in Danbury, CT, arrived at the family home of Sonia Loja to discover an absolutely horrific scene.
The 36-year-old mother of three strangled her children, then appears to have hung herself.
Just Say Something
The three children have been identified as 12-year-old Junior Panjon, 10-year-old Joselyn Panjon, and 5-year-old Jonael Panjon.
Danbury Police stated, “Pending an official autopsy, preliminary findings indicate that Ms. Loja strangled her three children before killing herself.
“However, this is still an active investigation.”
In addition to Lojo and her children, two other adults reportedly reside at the same address but were not home at the time of the alleged murder-suicide.
Mayor Dean Esposito stated, “In the coming days, mental health and counseling services will be provided through collaboration with the Danbury Public Schools and the City of Danbury.
“Our community grieves for the innocent lives taken from us. We will get through this together.”
Deaths such as this completely rattle the entire community.
Was there a sign? Did she try to reach out to someone and was refused help?
I cannot fathom what would bring someone to such a breaking point to not only commit suicide but also murder her children.
This is just a heartbreaking and soul-crushing story.
