Democrats love their email controversies.
First, it was Hillary, then Hunter Biden, and now it is Joe Biden’s climate guru, John Kerry.
A recent FOIA request founds some rather interesting tidbits in email chains with Kerry’s climate change office.
What Are You Hiding?
I would like to offer a quick hint to John Kerry’s staffers.
If you are going to talk about hiding this off “paper,” you should probably not email people about your intent.
An FOIA request by watchdog Protect the Public’s Trust found two really interesting things in this email chain.
First, most all names and emails were hidden, even though this is a government office with names and emails on record.
That tells me Kerry has people from the outside helping out with policy, probably special interest groups and lobbyists.
Second, the group is clearly trying to keep some of its plans off book, which is entirely illegal.
For instance, one email stated, “I would also suggest a call or meeting soon with jk to update him on FY22 and 23, focusing on all the elements we can’t put on paper.”
This is a government agency, so EVERY penny is to be accounted for, not just what you want people to see.
PPT Director Michael Chamberlain stated, “Looking at the State Department’s response to this request, the American public would be hard-pressed to believe it is part of the most transparent and most ethical administration in history, as the Biden Administration continually claims.
“When an official says they will have a discussion with John Kerry focusing on ‘all the elements we can’t put on paper,’ what other interpretation could a reasonable person have than that they are attempting to sidestep federal records and transparency laws?
“The actions in this case appear to reveal the administration’s claims of ethics and transparency to be merely lip-service.”
The moment Republicans take over the House, there needs to be an investigation, possibly a special counsel, to audit this office.
