Since Joe Biden decided to make a series of moves in the past couple of years that resembled a small child being allowed to handle the family finances, many Americans no matter what their income level have been forced to do some pretty drastic things.

Take the dollar store for example. There are a lot of people who for one reason or another have to shop at a Dollar Tree and it isn’t necessarily their idea. If they are in a small enough town, it’s the only thing that they have.

Then you have the other side of that coin, the folks who are living at the level where the name-brand box of cereal is a major financial decision. Those people still need to be able to feed their families and get the things they need. Dollar Tree is a lifeline to those people.

Or at least it used to be. Companies usually do one of a couple of things when times get tough for the community around them.

Either they suck up the fact that if they keep prices the same they will be doing something good for people that need the help, or they will jack up prices and worry about their bottom line instead of making sure the customers are happy.

Dollar Tree has found them in a good bit of trouble because it seems that they have broken the tacit compact that all good stores have with their customers. It seems that instead of taking the Bidenflation on the chin, they have decided to raise prices.

Yes friends, Dollar Tree no longer sells things for a dollar. In a prepared statement, the CEO of the chain said, “For decades, our customers have enjoyed the “thrill-of-the-hunt” for value at one dollar – and we remain committed to that core proposition – but many are telling us that they also want a broader product assortment when they come to shop.”

I find it hard to believe that a company as big as Dollar Tree would have to fold up its tent if it kept prices the way they were instead of raising them as drastically as they have.

What some of these big retail chains simply do not understand is that the people who shop there aren’t doing it for “the love of the game” or whatever that blind nonsense was.

They’re doing it because they have to. They are shopping there because it is their only option. They are doing it because every single dollar to some of these people counts as much as each drop of blood in their bodies.

It’s downright shameful that a company that wouldn’t exactly have to close up shop if their profit margins went down a little would pass what Biden has done to the country along to the consumer.

Besides, these executives are all worried about making sure that their bonuses and golden parachutes are as full as they can be. It’s shameful.
