The homeowners of West Bowen Avenue were awoken by loud banging noises coming from downstairs around 3 a.m. one Friday morning. The male homeowner had grabbed his firearm upon hearing the noise downstairs and instructed his wife to call 911.
Upon investigating, the male homeowner discovered a naked and highly intoxicated man throwing toys and clothes around their daughter’s unoccupied bedroom.
When questioned as to why he was there, the man said he was looking for clothing for himself and had entered through an unlocked back door while the family slept. It appears that the suspect had managed to enter through an unlocked back door after the family had gone to bed for the night, possibly mistaking their home for a neighbor’s house.
He caused roughly $200 worth of damage before being apprehended by the male homeowner who held him at gunpoint until police arrived on scene.
According to records from the Bismarck Police Department, Alvin Ducheneaux has been charged with Burglary (Class B Felony), Criminal Mischief (Class B Misdemeanor) and Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor).
He is currently being held at a local jail with a $5,000 cash bond pending his next court date in November where he may face up to 10 years imprisonment if convicted of all charges against him.
