If you did not think Governor Ron DeSantis was going to defer to Trump before, I think he just made his intentions very clear.
While attending an Arizona rally for Kari Lake, DeSantis shredded the FBI.
To me, DeSantis is lining up behind Trump, for better or worse.
Donald Can Lead the Way
It was already a bit of a surprise to see DeSantis announce he would campaign for Trump’s candidates.
Blake Masters was of particular concern because of his extremist positions.
DeSantis has taken it one step further.
He has now fully aligned himself with Trump, stating, “These agencies have now been weaponized to be used against people that the government doesn’t like.
“And you look at the raid at Mar-a-Lago.”
He later added, “They are enforcing the law based on who they like and who they don’t like.
“That’s not a republic.
“Well, maybe that’s a banana republic.”
Donald Trump is a news junkie, so you know he heard about those comments as soon as they were made.
To me, it says that DeSantis has no intention of running if Donald Trump commits to running again in 2024.
Not only that, but DeSantis is also putting himself into a position to be the heir apparent to the MAGA movement with Trump’s blessing.
If Trump and DeSantis team up, it could prove to be quite formidable over the next decade.
