Well, it finally happened.
Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19.
The news broke only minutes ago that the fully vaccinated and twice boosted Biden is positive and experiencing minor symptoms.
Being Treated
Biden is already being treated with Pfizer’s Paxlovid.
This is an antiviral pill treatment that has been effective in reducing the hospitalization of individuals who have tested positive for COVID.
For Biden, the obvious concern is his age.
At 79 years old, he falls into the group most susceptible to COVID.
Biden has a runny nose, fatigue, and a dry cough.
White House physician Kevin O’Connor stated, “I anticipate that he will respond favorably, as most maximally protected patients do.”
Jill Biden added, “I talked to him just a few minutes ago, he’s doing fine.”
Joe Biden has been isolated in the quarters and will remain so until he tests negative again.
Biden has had a busy schedule of late, having back-to-back trips abroad and traveling to Massachusetts on Wednesday for a policy announcement.
We all know how tired he gets when he works, so he was likely run down, making him more susceptible to the virus.
This will not help Biden’s case for being physically fit to run again in 2024.
Not so shockingly, the media is not treating Biden’s COVID nearly as drastically and critically as they did when Donald Trump had it.
