COVID as a serious health threat now seems to be dissipating.

The latest strands of COVID hardly have the impact the virus had during its early stages.

Even with recent surges, hospitalization and mortality rates continue to decline.

Yet, the Biden administration will more than likely continue to keep the mask mandate in place for travel.

It’s Coming

The White House’s top doc on the COVID response team is not “overly concerned” about recent numbers.

Dr. Ashish Jha, however, recently stated that the continuation of the mask mandate for travelers is likely.

When asked about the extension of the mandate, Jha stated, “This is a decision that the CDC Director Dr. Walensky is going to make.

“I know the CDC’s working on developing a scientific framework for how to answer that. We’re going to see that framework come out, I think in the next few days.

“And based on that we’re going to want to be guided by this decision. You know, throughout the entire pandemic we’ve wanted to make decisions based on the evidence and science and that is what I expect we’ll do this week.”

Jha continued, “This is a CDC decision and I think it is absolutely on the table, `and Dr. Walensky’s going to make her decision based on the framework that the CDC scientists create and will make a decision collectively based on that.”

It is not all that surprising, honestly, as Dr. Fauci has been doing the circuit again, bracing everyone for more restrictions to be put back in place very soon.

The travel industry, which includes states impacted by the lack of travelers, continues to push back.

To that point, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, stated, “This order is completely outside the bounds of the scope of federal power.

“President Biden’s shortsighted, heavy-handed and unlawful travel policies are frustrating travelers and causing chaos on public transportation.”

To me, this is more about creating urgency simply so Democrats can get backing to have another big check written.

The more COVID money they get, the more money they can divert to their pet programs.
