It’s quite likely that everyone reading this right now has been involved in some sort of minor traffic incident of some kind. If you have ever been in a car in your life, it stands to reason that you will eventually be on the roadside or a parking lot exchanging insurance information.
My perfect record of no accidents got broken about six months ago when I was leaving a grocery store. As I was pulling out of my parking spot, the person in the spot right next to me began pulling out but in the opposite direction. Then I heard the noise of two back bumpers hitting each other.
The person who bumped into me was this old man who had to have been north of eighty. We looked at each other, apologized, exchanged insurance information, and prayed that our respective vehicles otherwise made it home safely.
Our bumpers got fixed and that was the end of it. He even called me around Thanksgiving to make sure that everything turned out alright with the repairs. That’s how things should go.
People shouldn’t have to resort to violence in a situation like this and some folks have hair triggers when it comes to getting angry.
This is highlighted in a tragic incident that unfolded recently in the liberal haven of California. By the way, notice that this crap always seems to happen in California?
Anyway, a mechanic named Jonathan Mauk was pulling out of a parking spot in a California Walmart and backed into another vehicle in the lot. The damage to the other vehicle could have been fixed over half an afternoon and a glass of iced tea.
Mark stepped out and attempted to apologize and offer to pay for any damage that was done to Shawntece Norton’s vehicle. I say attempted because before Mark could get the apology out, this absolutely vile human being pulled out a gun and shot Mark in the face.
Over a scratch that could have been fixed easily. No real damage other than a little bit of time sitting in a parking space exchanging insurance information.
This coward thug of a person fleed the scene while Mark was clinging to life and was pronounced dead right there in the parking lot.
It only took cops about twelve hours or so to apprehend her. From all accounts, Mark was a good man who just wanted to do the right thing in life. Even in his last act on this planet, he was trying to apologize and to offer to make things right.
That’s the problem with so many of these sick thugs who think that everything is some rap song where the slightest inconvenience is a provocation for a shooting.
Now this thug is going to have to spend a long time in prison wondering if the scratch on the car was worth the reaction. Trust me, it never is.
