Over the last few weeks, some very disturbing things have happened to the Phoenix Police Department.
As bad as it has been, one of the most horrific events we have seen in terms of a blatant ambush happened about a week ago.
Thanks to bodycam footage, the entire event was caught on video, and the Phoenix Police have now released the disturbing footage.
Horrifying Ambush
If you are not familiar with the case, officers were answering a call regarding a woman who had been shot inside a residence.
The first office on-scene approached the house.
As he approached the entrance, a man could be seen asking the officer for help in the doorway.
The suspect, now identified as Morris Jones, stated, “She’s choking on her own blood! Come on, bro.”
The officer gets within a few feet, which is when Jones allegedly opened fire, striking the officer multiple times.
The officer was hit on his draw arm, so he was unable to defend himself and ran for cover.
Thankfully, several other officers were near, and they opened fire on Jones.
Within minutes, officers had surrounded the home, then a second man emerged and put a baby outside the door.
When officers came to get the baby, Jones allegedly launched another volley of shots, striking four more officers, with another four officers hit by ricochets and shrapnel.

Jones reportedly barricaded himself inside the home and was found dead when officers were eventually able to gain access.
In addition to Jones being found dead, the woman who was the apparent subject of the initial call, was also found dead.
Thankfully, the child was unharmed.
It truly is a miracle those officers are all now recovering.
