Yet another top Biden adviser is running for the hills.
This time it is former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
Bottoms will be replaced by Stephen Benjamin.
Family Time
I love the excuse that all these officials are resigning to spend more time with their family, as that is yet again the excuse that was given to get off this sinking ship.
Biden, in announcing Bottoms’ departure, stated, “Under Keisha’s leadership, the Office of Public Engagement has kept equity at the heart of our agenda and continues to serve as the connective tissue between our Administration and everyday Americans who may not have a voice to reach Washington otherwise.
“I have leaned on Keisha as a close advisor with exceptional instincts, and I am grateful to her for serving our nation with honor and integrity.”
Benjamin is the former mayor of Columbia, South Carolina.
He has also served as the president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the African American Mayors Association and as a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta Affordable Housing Advisory Council.
In addition to Bottoms, some of the other recent top resignations have been Labor Secretary Marty Walsh, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, top economic adviser Brian Deese, and Chief of Staff Ron Klain.
If this were a GOP administration, the media would be calling it a house on fire.
