The man allegedly responsible for killing three Kentucky police officers and a canine officer is finally in custody.
Lance Storz, 49, was apprehended by police after a five-hour standoff.
In addition to the deceased officers, at least four more officers were wounded.
They Got Him
The shooting occurred on Thursday evening.
Storz opened fire on officers while serving a warrant at his residence.
The situation immediately went sideways, with the two officers serving the warrant being shot and killed, as well as a canine officer and the officer’s handler.
More officers were called for backup, but Storz continued to fire upon them when they arrived.
Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt stated, “They encountered … pure hell when they arrived. They had no chance.”
Police stated that Storz clearly had a plan and carried it out with precision.
He was so organized, it took officers several hours to figure out exactly where his position was inside the home.
Hunt added, “(The suspect) was a sheer terrorist … he was just a terrorist on a mission.”
Storz is expected in court on July 11.
