Donald Trump has always been very close to his daughter Ivanka.
He relied on her heavily during his presidential administration, probably too much.
That will not be an issue this time around, as Ivanka Trump has announced she will not be joining her father’s campaign.
If Trump wins, she will not be a part of his administration, either.
Not a Bad Thing
While the Trump base liked Ivanka, many did so by biting their lip over the influence she and Jared sometimes wielded over Trump.
Some of the most controversial programs introduced by Trump clearly had Ivanka and Jared’s fingerprints all over them.
If you noticed, when Trump announced last night, Ivanka did not take the stage.
When asked about her role in her father’s campaign, Ivanka stated, “That hasn’t changed and will never change.
“I’ve had many roles over the years but that of daughter is one of the most elemental and consequential.
“I am loving this time with my kids, loving life in Miami and the freedom and privacy with having returned to the private sector.
“This has been one of the greatest times of my life.”
She added, “My kids are thriving, and I want to maintain this cadence — this rhythm — at this point in our family’s life.
“Time is fleeting, and every parent will tell you it really does go by so quickly.”
Tiffany Trump and Donald Trump Jr. were also missing from the announcement.
Trump Jr. apparently ran into weather problems returning from a hunting trip, and he is expected to be a major surrogate for his father.
This will be a long, tough campaign for Trump, who clearly is not enjoying the same level of support he did during his first run or even in 2020.
