If you listened to oral arguments for and against Biden’s vaccine mandates last week, you were probably iffy going in.
The OSHA rule seemed like a lock to get struck down, which it did.
Several justices seemed hesitant to strike down the health care mandate, however, and that is the one that held up, much to DeSantis’ chagrin.
Cowards!
I was pretty sure that order would stay in place, especially since Roberts was virtually a lock to vote with liberals.
When Kavanaugh changed sides, well, that was all that was needed to get the rule through.
The rule, by the way, makes no sense when you consider the health care industry has fired so many people, they are now allowing COVID-positive workers to pull shifts.
DeSantis went off after the ruling, obliterating Justices Roberts and Kavanaugh.
He stated, “On the nurse mandate and the doctor mandate, Roberts and Kavanaugh joined with the liberals to allow the nurse mandate.
“So here’s what’s going on, think about how insane this is.
“Now, in Florida, we protected the nurses, so we have people that are working. But in other states, they fired nurses who were not vaccinated.”
He later added, “So they have COVID-positive people back on, meanwhile the unvaccinated, likely immune through prior infection, healthy nurses are on the sidelines fired.
“How insane are these policies?”
“But honestly, Roberts and Kavanaugh did not have a backbone on that decision.
“That’s just the bottom line.”
I am with you, Governor… this was just a bad ruling.
