Also called “vacuum bombs,” they are considered a violation of the Geneva Conventions.

Putin is already facing accusations of war crimes.

These bombs circulate explosive material in the air, then use the oxygen as an accelerant, incinerating everything within its blast zone.
The most horrific aspect of the bomb is that it sucks the air out of people’s lungs, rupturing the lungs, basically an internal explosion.
They are very effective in tight spaces, such as buildings and highly condensed population areas.
On Wednesday, the British Ministry of Defense posted, “The Russian MoD has confirmed the use of the TOS-1A weapon system in Ukraine. The TOS-1A uses thermobaric rockets, creating incendiary and blast effects.”

Russia is also allegedly using cluster bombs, another violation.
When you add this to the blatant bombing of civilian targets, such as schools and hospitals, it would not be a surprise to see war crimes charges levied at the conclusion of this war.
