This is not a good week for Joe Biden regarding Afghanistan.
Biden has finally been getting some traction in polling, but that could all soon be for naught.
A scathing DHS IG report showed that Afghanistan evacuees were not being properly vetted.
Now a Pentagon whistleblower has come forward with charges that are even more damning.
Not Checking
The White House time and again assured Americans that evacuees were being fully vetted before being let into the country.
The DHS IG report cited about 50 instances where that was not the case.
Now, a whistleblower has come forward saying there were more than 300 terror list subjects that the administration did not properly vet.
The Pentagon IG has since announced that it will investigate this claim “that hundreds of Afghan evacuees were allowed to enter the United States despite appearing on the DoD’s Biometrically Enabled Watchlist, and that officials at the National Security Council and DoD did not follow proper procedures when processing evacuees in Afghanistan and at staging bases.”
The Biden administration immediately pushed back, stating, “Rigorous and multi-layered screening and vetting process [which] begins overseas and is conducted by intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism officials from across the U.S. Government — including from the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and State; Federal Bureau of Investigation; National Counterterrorism Center; and other Intelligence Community partners.”
The DHS IG report, however, stated, “We determined some information used to vet evacuees through U.S. Government databases, such as name, date of birth, identification number, and travel document data, was inaccurate, incomplete, or missing. We also determined [Customs and Border Protection] admitted or paroled evacuees who were not fully vetted into the United States.
“As a result, DHS may have admitted or paroled individuals into the United States who pose a risk to national security and the safety of local communities.”
It is rather ironic that when Trump pushed back on IG reports, Democrats and the media went ballistic.
Now, here we have the Biden administration doing the same, on far more serious issues, and for the most part, we are hearing nothing but crickets.
I do know this… if these claims prove to be true and a terror attack happens in this country, Democrats will be ruined for decades to come.
This will be a legacy every official in the current administration will never be able to shed.
