Several days ago, there was a strike that killed several people, including an American military contractor and five service members.
(UPDATE: The most recent reports have changed to have one American contractor killed as well as five service members being injured, with one additional contractor injured – 3.25.2023 6:40 a.m.)
Biden ordered a drone strike as revenge for that attack.
Normally, things would have died down after the retaliatory strike.
That is not the case this time.
Another Strike
Iranian-backed militia groups have struck again.
They fired rockets at the Green Village base, located in the Al-Omar gas field of northeastern Syria.
This time, however, there were no casualties, so this may stop the cycle.
This strike was a response for a drone strike that was ordered on Thursday night.
CENTCOM’s commander, Gen. Michael Kurilla, said the U.S. will “always take all necessary measures to defend our people and will always respond at a time and place of our choosing.
“We are postured for scalable options in the face of any additional Iranian attacks.
“The thoughts and prayers of US Central Command are with the family of our contractor killed and with our wounded servicemembers and contractor.
“Our troops remain in Syria to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS, which benefits the security and stability of not only Syria, but the entire region.”
According to Kurilla, these attacks are not one-off incidents as we have always been led to believe.
Kurilla stated that since 2021, these groups have attacked our troops 78 times, which is a concern.
Again, we go back to our enemies showing aggression with an Oval Office occupant who has shown nothing but weakness.
