Sunday brought a moment many Formula 1 fans had been waiting for. Before the main race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle approached Kardashian on his traditional grid walk.
It was their first exchange since the Monaco Grand Prix in June, when Brundle tried to interview her before the race and she did not stop. That earlier moment drew wide attention online.
This time, Kardashian raised the subject herself. “Did I not know the rules? Did we get off on the wrong foot?” she joked as Brundle approached, according to Just Jared. Brundle, a former Formula 1 driver known for buttonholing celebrities on the grid, laughed off the moment, told her it was fine and welcomed her to the Singapore race.
Asked what she makes of the sport, Kardashian was effusive. “I think it’s amazing and fun and wild and something I’ve never seen before. It’s amazing,” she said.
When the conversation turned to Hamilton, she said she was “just praying for the best tonight,” adding that he was feeling confident and that she was too.
Hamilton had sounded measured about his chances after Saturday’s sprint. “It’ll be very hard for us to beat Max tomorrow,” he said, referring to Max Verstappen, in remarks Just Jared credited to Yahoo.
He suggested the two Ferraris might find ways to work together to apply pressure, adding that he believed the team had the car “in a good place.”
Kardashian and Hamilton have been publicly linked since earlier this year and have made several appearances together in recent months.
Singapore was her first trip back to the paddock since Monaco, and by Sunday the awkward grid-walk episode that followed her there appeared to be settled — on camera, and with a laugh from both sides.
