Joe Biden’s attempt to offer support for police is a total sham.
On Thursday, he visited New York City to push an executive order that he is going to put out for federal police reform.
He pressed the flesh with local police and led a standing ovation for the officer that took down the man who ambushed two police officers.
This is all a façade, however.
Soft on Crime
First and foremost, where was the outrage from the White House over the slew of officers that have been ambushed and killed so far this year?
Think about this… Joe Biden was more outraged over the killing of George Floyd than he was collectively for every officer killed in the line of duty this year.
Police unions are taking notice, as they have blistered Biden and this administration of late.
Rising crime in this country is literally a laughing matter to this administration, and the only time they get behind police is when it is for a photo op.
Joe Biden plans to release an executive order to push federally mandated police reform.
Biden will talk about the funding it offers for police, but he will not publicly disclose the handcuffs it puts on our police when they are trying to do their jobs.
This is a tactic to bash Republicans who do not support the legislation for what it really does.
If Biden were serious about helping our police, he would be slamming these uber-progressive DAs that are allowing criminals to go free on our streets by lessening felonies to misdemeanors and low-bail, no-bail programs.
House Minority Leader McCarthy (R-CA) discussed this exact point.
McCarthy stated, “Soft-on-crime politicians are destroying our country.
“Both President Biden and VP Harris have indulged the soft-on-crime far left for political gain, helping create a climate hostile to law enforcement.
“It has been an absolute disaster.”
Referring to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, McCarthy added, “Now, Biden lacks the courage to condemn a far-left prosecutor in New York City who refuses to prosecute crime, downgrades felony charges for crimes like armed robbery, and releases criminals on low bail.”
He concluded, “If Americans entrust House Republicans with the majority, we will focus on getting criminals off the streets, not invite them to break the law with impunity.”
This should be a bipartisan no-brainer, but Biden continues to fail to individually call out Democrats who support defunding the police and soft-on-crime policies.
Every time this question comes up, Biden and Psaki merely reiterate Biden’s career position rather than calling out members of his own party.
This could make a huge difference in these policies if Biden did so, as Americans as a significant majority are significantly against these policies.
Sadly, voters in these elections do not seem to read the policies of these progressives, as they vote them into office blindly because they are Democrats, then they get upset and try to recall them.
This is going to be a hard-learned lesson for many in this country.
